Subject: Re: Kentucky Bluegrass Lawn Question

Coldwater, Michigan
If I was doing a large area to reseed I would plant the bluegrass (in my case I would broadcast the seed), then before scratching it in I would broadcast wheat seed right along with it. Then scratch it in. The wheat will germ and grow quickly. Give you a heck of a nice looking lawn quickly. The blue grass will have a chance to get going well, then the wheat will die out and you have your BG lawn. I would usually have seeded in the fall in Ohio, or Michigan. Keep mowing, wheat stay with you through the next summer, then gone. Nice lawn left. The wheat gives you a nice high traffic lawn within a short period of time, then stop worrying about the lawn. Just mow and let it come to you.
