Subject: Probably better mow it now.

Some of it will be 3' tall in about 2 weeks. Then it has to flower and pollinate, and...........well, you might be looking say about the middle of july or so before you get much for seed. If you think it's stemmy now,.......I'd hate to see what you think about it in july....;-)

If you have sort of a lighter than you want stand for the lawn, it's really fairly easy to spread some more seed after you mow it, let it rain once or water it, then mow it and not remove the clippings, then water it again. Most fescues are very, very tough seed. However like anything, once the seed swells, it better not dry out. But I would mow it now and maybe a little higher than usual, then come back next week and mow it again a little lower. Straight fescue for lawn, especially tall fescues with very little fine, will be somewhat stemmy, but very, very tough and can take a lot of traffic, weather droughts very well, and will be a dark green color. It competes well with weeds, and can be hit hard with chemicals when needed to clean up the weeds.

Thanks for buying fescue for your lawn. It is far better than ryegrass no matter what the ryegrass growers will tell you......LOL
