![](http://www.newagtalk.com/mapdots/ilmap.jpg) Freeburg, IL | I've been working on seeding my lawn for the last few years. I used a multiple fescue blend and I'm not sure what all kinds.
Anyway, I didn't mow last week and then we got in the field and ran full tilt until yesterday afternoon.
The grass is very stemy and about 10" tall (I mow it at 4-4.5"). So the stems have seed since it has been about 2 weeks since I mowed.
How long does it take fescue to produce VIABLE seed? Can a person wait until there is viable seed and then mow it and get a "free" interseeding?
I guess I'm thinking that if it was 2 weeks, I might wait. Otherwise, I'll mow it later today or tomorrow.
Thanks in advance! | |
