I say this some what tongue in cheek....but in this area we have added calendar & date to the soil test.
Early May...roll a ball of soil, if you can crumble it ...time to plant.
Early June...roll a ball of soil, throw it at the saddle tanks, if it doesn't stick...time to plant!!
