West Central MN | The EPA requires the refuge but it is Monsanto's responsibility to ensure that growers are in compliance.
I received a letter last year from Monsanto that said I was going to be spot checked. Monsanto contracted with the Minnesota Crop Improvement Association to do the spot checks for them. The lady who came said that they do all of the spot checks for Minnesota. She said that Monsanto can do it theirselves, but she had never heard of a Monsanto company rep. doing a spot check in Minnesota. The EPA has no involvment in the actual enforcement process. | |
