I have grown hard red winter wheat for years and try to put it on my most fertile fields.The first few years i split applied n and now just put on 10 lbs more than srw.Protein is a crap shoot and reading the previous post i think that stress could very well be a factor.I have seen yields usually within 10 bu less to 5 bu more than srw.
