| According to Dr. Peter Hurst of Purdue you can prune apple trees winter, spring and summer. Late summer or early fall is not good because pruning stimulates growth and you don't want new tender growth to go through winter. Do NOT prune peach or nectarene trees they until are just about ready to bloom. In Indiana winter or early spring pruning of peach or nectarenes will frequently kill them. Don G | |
