What little there was turned over this winter at around $180-200 for dairy quality test hay. 'Cheap' cow hay is around $135, and feed store alfalfa and particularly Orchardgrass in light (100lb) bales is right around $200.
Will be a while before we start cutting here, has been too cold. Dry, so we still get to irrigate, but cold. Hay is way behind. Prices should be real strong however. I believe dairy hay will start out over $180 and the feed store grass hay will have to be well over $200 or it does work with fertilzer prices, and guys will plow it out. | |
