we put about 4 or 5 golf balls in each part of cylinder( between the cylinder bar supports). We only did this in corn so the cylinder isn't really turning that fast. They bounce a little when the cylinder is shut down. I can't say that it helped or hurt either way. I've got a bunch of filthy golf balls you can have. We quit the filler plates last year and I can't see us ever putting them in again.
