Subject: RE: RR alfalfa

Pasco WA.
The organic guys are leading the charge to prevent RR alfalfa from being reintroduced. So I say it's a pretty fair statement to blame the organic guys.

With 300 acres of irrigated RR alfalfa in production I feel I am qualified to comment on RR alfalfa. For me with RR I am using lots less chemicals that are also safer to the enviroment. I have cleaner alfalfa that for some reason has less weeds trying to grow in it. This spring I had to spot seed in areas of the fied where pigweed growing in the new seeding choked out the alfalfa and reseeded the field with more weeds. Their is no conventional control method for pig weed in hot weather. I also have a lot of china lettuce in my new seeding. With the RR fields the year before I had 0 weeds.

I want RR alfalfa as soon as possible.
