So. IL | You are referring to rowcrop farmland. He is talking deer food plots and wetlands. There is a big difference in the type and size of weeds present between the two. Additionally, many food plots are surrounded by timber on at least one side if not all four and the presence of shade can have a profound effect on glyphosate performance when it is cool.
You spray at night because you have to. I did not say that spraying at night will not work under any condition. There is however, plenty of data to show that the relative effectiveness of glyphosate is reduced, sometimes significantly, by spraying late in the day or at night during cool moist conditions like we are currently experiencing. Conversely, during extremely hot and dry conditions that can exist in the summer, spraying at night can be superior as the plant will attempt to grow and translocate herbicide due to stressful conditions that exist in the daylight hours.
