Iowa State says that you will need 0-30 lbs of nitrogen for first year after established alfalfa: Here is the article from Iowa State:

I talked to a farmer that wanted to tear up and alfalfa field and plant corn. He is going to use 50 units of N per acre. I have to admit that is more but I would say the grass covered about 40-50% of the alfalfa field. That does not provide any N to the next crop.
