Lancaster, OH | Difficulty is the spectrum when you get away from the Roundup + 2,4-D. They work well on most of the winter annuals broadly. Without those two in any mix, you tend to be weaker on Chickweed, Purple Deadnettle, marestail or something else.
I really liked the Canopy product as a residual. Valor has given somewhat mixed results, usually when it was expected to give too much contribution to the burndown in the fall or spring.
Here in Central/Southern Ohio, perfect fall spraying time is from Halloween on. We even spray in the winter when the tips won't freeze. If the ground is frozen, you have to leave out the residuals. Crazy? Roundup only works on actively growing weeds. When do winter annuals grow?
Not so crazy. | |
