West Tennessee | I have done this before with radar detectors and it worked good. I bought a female cig lighter receptacle with pigtails at auto zone. I hard wired the pigtails (plugged a spade connector into an unused fuse plug)and put a switch in the hot line. I drilled a hole and mounted the switch in the dash. I put some electrical tape around the cig lighter plug after I plugged it in so it doesn't vibrate loose. A hardwire adapter as mentioned would probably be better but this setup will most likely get me by for a long time. This way I've changed nothing if I decide to take it out and use it in something else. Just untape the plug and pull it out. | |
