DE | 1. make sure you are using same refrigerant that's already in tractor, r-12 or r-134a
2. ideally you should have ac gauges so you can see what your pressures are. The low and high side pressures along with the sight glass and temp of cool air coming out of vents can tell you what's going on with the system
3. As far as the replacing of the compressor, you will need an ac vacuum pump to pull a vacuum for at least 30 minutes and then to see if it will hold a vacuum for I THINK 10 minutes to test for leaks. Pulling a vacuum for this time helps burn off any moisture in the system. Moisture is an enemy of ac systems. Also would be wise to replace ac filter/accumulator if it has not been replaced in a few years. | |
