Subject: Baling Hay Custom Rates This Year?

I been trying to figure what charge this year rolling hay this year, John Deere 535 baler, size set about 5' 10" diameter, 5' wide. I want to be fair, but I don't want to run for nothing. Last year charge $10 a roll just for baling, customer cut and rake. Also last year was bad drought hay very light and thin. I learn to hate V-rakes, everybody got one and in thin hay they don't put enough hay in a windrow. They run you all over the field trying get a roll. I roll for couple of brothers and they still use a couple of New Holland 256 bar rakes and they do very good job of raking. Also the price of fertilizer alot of people not using any or just putting down some nitrogen. I going to tell people to rake me a big nice size windrow, I not going to bale these little windrows { farm diesel $3.65 a gallon Thursday, may be up today ) I not going to run all over the field. Maybe I just bale a select few hay and do something else. I in the Middle Tennessee area.
