had a 1-phase motor on it. I replaced it with a 3-phase motor so I could put a VFD on it.
It is nice to have variable speeds at the push of a button. Motor delivers full torque + a bit more at all speeds from 175 up to full rated speed plus a bit more if you need a bit faster. Drives do a nice job making 1-phase into 3-phase
