I work on a project for a major oil company that the main ingredient is graphite. It is pretty harmless if you don't have prolonged exposure and breath a bunch. Just try to keep from breathing it and stirring it up. If nothing else just get a dust mask. I doubt that you will be exposed enough to cause any irritation. If you are still concerned, look up the MSDS on the Internet. It should answer all of your questions.
