So, will either the Harbor Frt (made in Chicago?) or the Alemite NOT lock up while on zerks that won't take grease?
Nope, I dont think any of the electric guns have an internal pressure relief, so trying to pump grease into a clogged zerk will stall the gun.
If not-why not?
When changing cartridges in the HF or Alemite after running gun empty, do you have to re-prime the pump head, or does it just take off automatically
Leaving the cartridge tube loose about 1/2 turn with the spring plunger released will purge out air when starting after a cartridge, then tighten tube . Also removing that check ball from the grease tip makes it much easier to pump an air bubble out of the pump and hose.
.
These are 2 problems we've had w/Lincoln electrics over the past 10 yrs or however long they've been out.
I've always wondered why some enterprising engineer type from Chicago (?) doesn't invent an electric drive that replaces the hand pump on ANY conventional hand gun. It would just have to have a rod that cycles in/out.
