We put in some shorter season corn for silage early (first of may) too. You can just about figure that going from a 115 day corn to a 95 day corn it will gain you about two weeks. We plant the shorter season corn on ground we want to get back into alfalfa. This allows us to get the young hay in by the first week of Sept..
