There are some good reeds canary grass varieties that work good on heavy wet soil. Palaton or venture come to mind.
I heard that the reason timothy doesn`t last like it used to is because we cut it to often. By not letting it head out it, it doesn`t last.
Maybe Mr. Wilson can help you on that one.
