| It is the official policy of the Farm Bureau, Soybean Association, Corn Growers, etc. that grains should be purchased on the basis of the "equivalent bushel" as defined by Lowell Hill at the University of Illinois. These actions, which are now 20 or 25 years old, were adopted over the objection of management recommendations. Consequently, nothing has ever been done. In the equivalent bushel concept, formulas for defining shrink and moisture/test weight/etc. penalties also get run in reverse if the grain in above standards in quality.
