Mike I don't know-I think I'm still right. I didn't say anything about the # of seeds per lb. I would assume the HIGHER tw corn would have FEWER seeds/lb. But-that has nothing to do w/the yield per acre thing. I just said there is 21,000,000 kernels per acre-based upon usual scouting/kernel counting fcst method. Length x width x ppa. I'm saying those 21,000,000 kernels are going to weigh more (= yield in however you want to measure it) with a higher tw. You are saying they are NOT? Those 21,000,000 kernels are now a given. Let's assume the field across the road has the same 21,000,000 kernels but a different kernel density (= tw). You're saying the lbs/A harvested will be the same? I sure can't visualize that. I understand the feathers/lead trick. But-we're talking about the density of a hummingbird feather vs a terradactyl feather crammed into a little brass cup. Probably not good to get too far off w/analogies. |
