| The above is incorrect, the systems will always be easiest to calibrate with the antennas as far forward as possible. The rear of the cab is the WORST place to put the antenna. The reasoning for this is that if the system thinks it needs to correct to the left, it will steer left but with the antenna behind the front axle it actually moves in the opposite direction to the right. This registers to the steering system that it is even further offline even though it is in the process of correcting the offline error. On an articulated machine, the antenna needs to be even with the front axle or even further ahead than that for best performance. | |
