Aberdeen MS | I'd say you were correct. Won't try to change your mind.
My beef with the elevator is the "double dock" when ya bring in lower test grain.
Bring in XXXXX pounds of crop... get the test weight. Divide pounds by test weight to give bushels... in volume measure... just like I was taught long long ago. A bushel equals xx cubic feet. The elevator tells me I have YY bushels based on 56# unit measure (calling it a bushel). Then dock for low test weight. They've already docked the actual bushels I brought in by using the 56# unit for measure instead of volume, then dock because it is "low quality" grain.
Ya should of heard him spit and sputter when I mentioned it made no diff due to the fact he blended high test with low test and didn't get any dockage himself when sold.
When using the 56# unit... that extra 1000 pounds for you will give you more bushels... and that the elvator says is my premium. But I say then if the premium is extra bushels....then the dockage is fewer bushels with lighter corn... and there should be no extra $$ dockage after that.
So are we both wrong or right..... I have no clue....LOL. | |
