I take the row numbers X kernals per row X plants per acres/90K then I X it by .85 or 85%. This will normally give a more realistic yield to the low side. This way 90% of the time my customers get a higher yield than what I estimate and they are always hoppy. Rule number one of seed selling never estimate a yield higher than it may be as everyone will wonder where those extra bushels you estimated went. Always underpromise and over deliver.
