That is not the hominy they are talking about. The hominy on the commodity market is a flaky substance that comes from the processing of whole kernal corn for the hominy, grits, etc that you guys are talking about. It is very light and flaky. I used to be able to get it in Benton, IL several years ago. Don't remember the cost but it wasn't much but then they found they could ship it out by the train load and that didn't leave any to sell to area cattlemen. Cattle loved it but it was dry and powdery so it was best if you could mix a little molasses or oil to wet it down some.
