Subject: Re: JD 4250 MFWD Solenoid Valve Question

Dietrich, Idaho and Mountain Home, Idaho
I checked the solenoid just like you suggested with a screw driver and now the dang screwdriver is magnetized!!:) I put the valve and solenoid back on the tractor(after I cleaned the screen) and I can hear a faint click in the valve now that I couldn't before. Could the metal shavings be out of the transmission(it's a powershift) or the brakes as previously stated? This is my first adventure with mfwd and powershift(have a JD 520, two 2840's, and 4430) and it sure is a learning curve. This tractor was a "cheap" as is fixer upper and I have sure bean busy fixing it up(nothing too major yet). Once I am done with it it should just about be a new machine!!! ;) Thanks for the info and suggestions, I sure do appreciate it.
