West Tennessee | I guess it depends on how big the corn is and how particular you are. We've sprayed a lot of corn over knee high without them and didn't see the need for them. If your corn was bigger and maybe on narrower rows then they might help some. Like I said before, in an open cotton crop you need them to keep from knocking bolls off onto the ground. Lots of big sprayers running great big tires around here without shields. My little coupe just makes a tiny track compared to those big boys. I remember when it was as big as anything running.
