Subject: RE: feeder cattle outlook

Feeder cattle may be to high but where are they going to come from? Us cow calf guys need money to raise calves and cutting numbers looks like the only option right now. You may want cheap feeder cattle but thats coming to an end shortly. The numbers will not be there. The rest of the meat industry will also cut back due to grain shortages. This looks bad for us to sell now but were very unhappy with the price and will have to cut costs. If the cattle aren't fed as good you'll see more dry cows and less weight on calves. Thats less beef when we sell our dry cows and less pounds when we sell our calves. Some of the packers got us to sell cows for almost nothing but looks like those days are over. Time is coming when there will be alot less money spent on cow herd and feed and less beef sold.
