Alberta, Canada | Hay is at $0.02,5 - 0.04,5 /lb here for big bales depending on shape and quality. That's 50-90/ton. Guys with good quality hay are shipping squares out of province like you wouldn't believe. Hell, for that price even we're considering shipping hay down south in the next few years.
Cattle prices are in the tank though, seen some prices drop as low as $0.54/lb for 500 pounder steers in January. Bout made me sick.

You got it Rich. Change that 20 head to 120 head and you've got us, and we're about done with it. It's not just us. Cattle farmers here are dropping like flies left right and center. Everyone needs an off-farm job to support the farm. |
