Smithfield probably has older contract farrowing units whose contracts are up. If they do not renew these contracts my guess is that not all of these units will completely shut down. The sows in the units that don't shut down will not go to market. I can't see 500,000 pig spaces(that's 208 2,400 head barns) setting empty either.
