If you have good, solid producing and uniform cows that have proven themselves, AI them and retain the cream of the heifers. If they are salebarn cows you've only had a few years, send them to town, and backhaul another load home. I prefer the prior, but Garbage In = Garbage Out, so you got to start off with some decent cows, too.
