I plugged $300 an acre cash rent into my spreadsheets. At current prices and inputs it puts me right about back to not quite covering my true machinery expenses. That's without factoring in the higher fuel and fertilizer prices that I know are already there for next year, and for what I don't yet have locked in. Of course, it will be different for other parts of the country.
