East Central Illinois | I think thats a solid observation,not about to say Central IL or IA cannot be bitten,but personally believe other areas definitely see wider yield ranges
You only have to travel 65 miles south of this area of Illinois and 130-135 are typical average. Those fellows and rightfully so think they have made a big strike if they have 155-160 bush corn and above that is not happening very often,if at all.I adjusted crops in that area this past fall and there was a tremendous amount of under 120 bushel corn and beans that bordered on disaster (under 20 on 1st crops).I am sure this is not just contained to this area.Would imagine everyone can justify the same type of areas in any state you choose.
We are in an area that yes cash rents are touching $325 + area.Recent local sealed bid auction had over a dozen bidders and the average bid was about $270...low was 240
on a farm with an FSA established of 140 on corn..no idea what the actual 10 yr was but pretty certain it was above 160 | |
