If considering only the wheat crop it was a no-brainer at the time just because of the corn guarantee but with the dc beans figured in it was closer to a wash. As the difficult spring turned out wet and late for corn that pretty well cemented leaving the wheat. I now wish we had planted a lot more wheat. Wheat/double crop beans look like better income than corn from a production standpoint right now, not sure what the total from both on the crop insurance side would guarantee. Looks good enough from an average crop standpoint that destroying any will not be considered by us. John |
