southern MN | This is not a typical situation any more, but typically when it gets real cold in the new England states late in the season, diesel goes up for a while. They use a lot of heating oil in that area, and a late cold snap has everyone refilling their tanks putting a crimp in supplies. Once supplies have a chance to level out again, prices drop to normal.
again, this year does not seem to be typical on input supplies so that may not even be a consideration any more.
