I have a HydraBed and do not use bale feeders...just unroll on clean ground, and make a circle 40-50 feet in diameter...lets timid cows have better access and prevents boss cows from walking the line and butting other cows in ribs...neglible hay waste if fed what they will clean up in 24 hours...
and feed pregnant cows in the evening to promote daylight calving!
