Audrain County, Missouri | Ground is frozen solid and I was ready for a break from feeding hay. We seeded forage rye to standing corn stalks on 9/6/07 and are letting the cows graze the fall growth. We'll pull them off as the ground thaws, topdress, and plan on turning them back in at greenup. Hope this saves us a fair amount of hay (and the cows seem content). New experience for us, looked like we were going to be short hay and wanted to try this to stretch supplies. Located in east central Missouri.
