Big oil has benefited by having ethanol take the blame for everything related to rising food prices, including rising energy costs. Instead of having Big Oil in the headlines for the negative effect on our economy of high crude prices, what we get is the bashing of ethanol. We don't even hear an unkind word about record oil company profits. Yup, ethanol is big oil's friend.
