I would keep it and go on. You locked it in at a profit. At least you didn't lock in three year's worth of corn for that price. Now you just have to avoid the mental part of $5.50 corn. But hey, you've got more left to sell! If you really knew what other people have HTA's sold at, you would feel pretty good. Our local ethanol plant has 2 more years of corn in the 3's locked in. I heard other day, one buyer said that the average price was around $3.20 for all the corn coming in that day. It seems that we are suddenly experts when we top the market for the time being, and then we ALL make a sale that we regret at some point. A BTO west of me that farms 18,000 acres locked in a large portion of his corn for 2 years when corn hit $2.75! Ouch!
