Agree with plowboy that 9' or 10' corners are better, especially if dug instead of driven. We have used 8 footers successfully if driven, and properly braced.

Plowboy, what do you use to dig a 10' deep post hole? Backhoe??

Also, if dug and tamped, getting ALL the dirt tamped back in the same hole along with the post is important.
