| Senior, thanks for your posts. I think cow liquidation is on hold for a few months right now. Like me, quite a few ranchers are calving or looking at calving in the next 30 days or so. The thought goes at this stage is we'll calve these cows out and make a choice after we get them on their feet about what to do next. In May- June we often see pairs hit the market and if grass is short or demand for pairs are short, then calves will be pulled off (that have a little size to them) and cows usually head to the plant. Just some observations I've made over the years. | |
