Leesburg, Ohio | In our 36' bin, we use a device made by our local millwright/bin dealer in their shop. It looks like a "wedding cake" on top, with maybe 8" tall angle iron legs holding it up. Each "layer" on the "cake" is made of a 2" wide strip of sheet metal (maybe 10 gauge?) formed into a ring. It has about four or five "layers" or rings, and each is smaller than the one below, and stairstepped up toward the middle like a wedding cake. The rings are supported by four verticle flat pieces of sheet metal radiating out from the center to the inside of the rings. The upper edge of these radial supports are stair-stepped so the rings will fit around the outside of each level. four angle iron legs are welded vertically inside the bottom ring in the corner formed by the ring and each vertical radial support plate. Holds the rings about 8" off the floor. There are small flat "feet" on the bottom of each leg, so they won't punch thru the floor. There is also a rod welded in the very center where all four vertical plates meet, and it extends straight down in the middle, into the pipe that holds the sweep in the middle of the sump. There's about 2.5 or 3" between each ring. The whole thing is big enough to set down around and cover the entire sump. Just sets in place in the sweep pivot, so we can pick it up and throw it out of the way to put the sweep in. Didn't have it the first year we had the bin...big mistake. No problems since. (Hope the description makes sense...Sorry I don't have a pic. Need to get a new battery for the digital...won't charge anymore.)
