Subject: Re: feeder cattle outlook

That is a good question. I am thinking feeder cattle prices are way to high for the current inputs $5.00 corn an $100.00 hay. I cant imagine anybody making money at the prices feeder cattle are now. I am putting claves out to grass in the sppring an currently some off these 55o lb steers are bringing $1.20 plus hwt. Nuts plain nuts. Heck I didnt pay much more then that two years ago when corn was cheap. It looks like a blood bath boiling here. I just sold some corn the other day an theres no way cattle will pay that bill an make money. No way. Fat cattle may have peaked. Who noes. Usually you get the summer months an prices decrease some. $80.00cattle. Now that would be ugly. Yeh theres lessupply off calves. But really a guy dont do this for a hobby. This recession thing has got me worrie. Fuel prices too.
