Our farm has always followed Best Management Practices, been certified in everything we are required to, and would never do anything unethical, illegal,or immoral.Having said that do you think that any group or organization working for the welfare of animals has the same high standards?Personally I don't believe so,they have their own, often, hidden agenda that drives them and it is usually not animal welfare. Therefore I ask that once you as an individual or organization give into any of their demands, requirements,or specifications, then where does it end?At the point you say you will do whatever they want you no longer control your outcome. The bottom line is where and at what cost does it end?The animal rights groups will never be satisfied. We feel as rancher, farmers and growers, we owe the consumer a good, quality, well raised product, but not necessarily a cheap product.Everyone of the things the do-gooders wants cost the producer, packer,or retailer money.History has proven over and over the consumer talks with their mouth and pays with their pocketbook and they are damn cheap.
