Perhaps we are in a kind of "stand-off" situation.

That is: The bulls are fearful of the extended/overbought markets
The bears are fearful of a few limit-up days in a row

One possibility is limit-up days leading to a minor but significant down-turn.

I would think there'd be a lot of profit-taking after a few limit-up days. This could lead to a meaningful drop in price and really be of value to the major trend over the long term.

Of course a major news event could effect the markets in a big way up or down.

Would you say never knowing for sure whether you're doing the right thing is what so many find appealing about the speculative markets?
