| Instead of lockwashers I prefer using the serrated /flange head nuts & if vibration is a problem I like to use a serrated/flange head bolt along with the serrated/flange head nut.
Depends upon the application as to whether to use grade 8 bolts. Grade 8s are designed to be used where the load is applied lengthways of the bolt. Because of their high tensile a grade 8 will break quicker than a grade 5 when the load is applied across the bolt. | |
