Did you get that info from a Crystalyx distributer or a Crystalyx employee. I know last fall I got better answers from a Crystalyx field man than I had been getting from their distributer. Check it out direct with Crystalyx if you did not get the information from them. Ran across some info from a production meeting put on by the local extension guys. A local vet said to reduce occurrance of scours you should move the uncalfed cows to a new calving area every 2 weeks. Scours comes from the bacteria in waste and by moving the uncalfed cows to a new calving area greatly reduces the chances of scours in the later calving cows. This was supported by a study on a ranch where they kept moving uncalved cows to a new pen every two weeks. Reduced scours by about 80%. Check with you local vet on this. The study was done in Nebraska.
