E.Central MN | While there might be a corrolation between rising ethanol prices and rising corn prices its unlikely the price of corn is going to raise ethanol prices. The demand for ethanol is based on renewable fuel mandates and the demand/price of oil.
The high price for corn is partly due to high wheat prices, high export demand, increased demand by ethanol production, and other domestic demand. In the past one or several of those demand bases have moderated while supply usually increased. Time will tell if that happens
and what effect that has on the price of corn. In the meantime, the price of ethanol will do its own thing. I don't recommend standing in front of any moving trains.
